SHORT SYNOPSIS:
Two co-authors chase the legend of the Black Cat, a deadly panther said to prowl Ashwood Forest. Consumed by their hunt for the truth, they tread a dangerous line between obsession, and becoming victims of the legend themselves.
CONCEPT:
The Black Cat, an elusive panther said to haunt the British countryside, remains one of the UK’s most enduring modern myths. Reported sightings span decades, keeping the legend alive.
This short film explores the myth in a grounded, cinematic style with a touch of docu-like realism. At its core are two co-writers, friends investigating the Black Cat for their next book. What begins as curiosity soon spirals into obsession, as the line between story and reality blurs. By the time they recognise the danger, it may already be too late.
